Mark Seyerle

Sax / Hand drums

Enter the world of Mark, an artist whose musical journey began at a tender age, leading him through a diverse and rich tapestry of genres.

At just five years old, Mark's fingers found their first dance on the bagpipes, a unique and soulful instrument that set the stage for his musical journey. A year later, his father introduced him to the saxophone, opening a gateway to the enchanting realms of jazz and big bands. Growing up in a household resonating with the sounds of big bands, jazz legends, and the soulful tunes of Motown, Mark absorbed a vast musical landscape that would shape his artistic identity.

His school years were marked by musical endeavors, from the early days in the school band, through high school, and eventually, in the prestigious U.S. Coast Guard band. Mark's talent started in the Warren, Ohio music scene, where he honed his skills and embraced the essence of live performances.

After his service in the Coast Guard, Mark's musical journey led him to the Dana School of Music, where he further refined his craft. In the vibrant music scenes of Akron and Cleveland, Ohio, he began exploring the depths of his musical versatility.

Mark's love for Bob Seger's music runs deep, finding solace in the heartland rock and roll that speaks directly to the American spirit. "Turn the Page" became his anthem, resonating profoundly with him due to its haunting saxophone licks. Mark's musical horizons were forever expanded in 1986 when he witnessed an unforgettable performance by Bob Seger. The convergence of musical forces at the Blossom Music Center, where The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Stevie Ray Vaughan shared the stage, left an indelible mark on his soul. The jam session between The Silver Bullet Band and Thunderbirds became a defining moment, etching the power of live music deep into Mark's being. It was at that time that the legendary Alto Reed, an icon in the world of saxophone, became a beacon of inspiration for Mark.
