Bill’s father, "The Professor" was not only renowned for his exceptional guitar skills, but also for his pioneering efforts in promoting live music in the local area. He started the first website dedicated to live music in Mahoning Valley, and his influence continued to shape the music scene until his passing and laid the foundation for Bill's musical odyssey.

At the young age of five, Bill's father brought home a piano that was a serendipitous acquisition from a friend moving to Texas. This piano became the gateway for Bill's incredible dive into the world of melodies and musical compositions. As Bill grew, he didn't limit himself to the piano. He proved to be a multi-talented musician, becoming proficient in playing the guitar, drums, bass, and harmonica. His versatility across these instruments allowed him to explore various facets of music and contribute in diverse ways to the bands and projects he joined. Bill's musical roots are firmly grounded in the blues, a genre he was naturally drawn to due to its melodic richness and continuous, emotive chords. This foundation along with the deep influence of his father, contributed to Bill's unique musical identity, shaping his musical roots and distinctive style as a keyboard player.

As the youngest member of the band, Bill's musical upbringing differed from his peers. While his teenage years consisted of the bands of the '90s, Bill's exposure to diverse artists broadened his musical horizons. Joining Against the Wind was a pivotal moment in Bill's career. It was through this experience that he developed a profound appreciation for the genius of Bob Seger. The way Bob Seger crafted musical scores resonated with Bill, and he recognized the sheer brilliance in the arrangement and execution.
